Robotics in 2015

With 2016 around the corner, time to reflect on the year 2015! This article in MIT Technology Review summarizes advancements in robotics during the year. While driver-less cars and drones are reality, we have a long way to go in automating mundane tasks like item picking in warehouses, as the Amazon Picking Challenge showed (the winning robot took over 10 minutes to pick 10 out of 12 items in a shelf). But this is happening and robotics technologies are delivering measurable value in warehouses every day in many different ways. We'll see more in 2016 with ACDC becoming reality :)
